Our trip to Provo...and the drama queen

Two weekends ago we took a family road trip to Provo for Ryan and Kim's (Nate's brother and his wife) graduations from BYU. We borrowed Nate's parent's van and it was wonderful! I loved putting the kids on separate seats, sitting next to them comfortably, etc. We brought our camera and this was the only picture I took. It was in our driveway as we were leaving!

We left Friday morning and stayed until Sunday. It was great to get away and just get out of Boise for a few days. Friday was the graduation and a fun BBQ at Kim's sister's house.

Afterwards we dropped in on our good friends Tyler and Alyson Bingham. Owen and Audrey had a blast hanging out with their cute kids. Their kids had a ton of dress up/costumes an my kids loved dressing up with them. Owen was a pirate for most of the evening and Audrey dressed up in an adorable "fancy" dress that Alyson wore in a "pageant" when she was a kid. Audrey didn't want to take it off. Saturday we went to IKEA. I am in love! I want to re-do my kitchen cabinets with IKEA stuff. I was impressed at the affordability of everything there. We decided to buy this:

It is a dry erase board on one side and a chalk board on the other. Owen can't get enough of it!

Saturday night we went bowling with Ryan and Kim. The kids had a blast, especially Owen. He memorized the color of everyone's ball then when it was their turn pointed it out to them. It was pretty cute. He also bowled with a rampy thing that you put at the beginning of the lane. We also put up the bumpers. It was fun.

We slept in on Sunday and left at about 10:00 and made a leisurely drive home.

It was a great weekend! Congrats Ryan and Kim!

Now...about that drama queen...

Melanie (Nate's sister) gave us this cute dress for Audrey handed down from her daughter. It is a bit big for Audrey, but she LOVES to wear it over her clothes - ever since she wore the fancy dress at Alyson's. My parents stopped by today and brought small gifts for the kids. Audrey got a purse with matching gloves and a necklace. I thought it would be cute for her to wear her dress (which matches perfectly) with her new purse and gloves. The necklace she is wearing is actually a costume pearl necklace that was my grandmas. I think she makes a pretty cute princess! I'm thinking we have the makings of a great Halloween costume here!
