So I was tagged forever and a day ago from Hailey, so I guess I ought to respond:
A. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B. Each player lists 6 facts/habits about themselves.
C. At the end of the post the player then tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
Fact: I am totally neurotic about money. I cannot stand to not know how many cents are in my account - and if I am off a cent that is torture as well. I literally update Quicken daily and assign categories to our spending. It's kind of a sickness...
Fact: I love cookbooks. I have an entire bookcase in my kitchen devoted to cookbooks. I even have a cookbook for 101 things to do with a package of Ramen Noodles. Sometimes I love to just read them. It is ridiculous.
Fact: I drive a 1986 Jetta and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love that dang car, it is 22 years old yet I don't want to get rid of it. When I imagine us getting rid of a car to buy a minivan, I imagine getting rid of the Honda - not the Jetta. I love how it handles and I love driving a stick shift. We bought it a couple of years ago from an old lady who only drove it to the grocery store - just kidding, but the former owner took great care of it and I am reaping the benefits every day!
Fact: I am obsessed with getting a great deal. I love yard sales I love to hit them as much as I can. My kids only dress in yard sale gear and if I do say so myself, they dress cute. I have been the recipient of many a great deal. My best so far - Owen's twin bed. I got it for $15.00 for the mattress, box spring, and a headboard. I talked a lady down at the end of the day - the funny thing is the headboard doesn't fit so I am going to sell it at a yard sale this year for $15.00 - so Owen's bed will be free! Along with the money saving thing, I love to get great deals on groceries. I don't clip coupons, but I do watch for sales and stock up like crazy. Just this past week I loaded up at Albertson's and ended up with a cart overflowing and it was $80.00 - it is going to last us forever! I also have read all 1800 (exaggeration) pages of The Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn. Highly recommended.
Habit: I cannot finish a glass of anything and/or a can of pop. As hard as I try I cannot finish. It drives Nate crazy because apparently I leave the half empty glasses on the counter or on the table or whatever. Crazy.
Fact: I love talk radio. It may seem odd because I am so laid back, and I am not super opinionated about things. I just love to listen to people who can say things that I never could or just listen to people debate, etc. My favorites are Glenn Beck http://www.glennbeck.com/, Handel on the Law http://www.handelonthelaw.com/. Don't hate me but I also love listening to Dr. Laura - I don't always agree with what she has to say, but sometimes I really do.
The second tag is from Mindy and is a crazy book tag, so here goes:
1. Pick up the nearest book (at least 123 pages).
2. Turn to page 123.
3. Find the 5th sentence
4. Post the 5th sentence on your blog.
5. Tag 5 people.
My nearest book is An Inconvenient Book by: Glenn Beck
The fifth sentence says:
"Bad Call!" the stripper adds in a sultry voice.
Okay that was embarrassing!
I tag...everyone who is reading this...I know it's a cop out, but I'd love to see every one's responses.
