Six Quirky Things Tag

My pal Angie tagged me so now I am sharing six quirky things about myself:

  1. I hate doing laundry. So much. I would rather clean toilets, do dishes, pull weeds, etc., etc., etc. I think I hate the folding - no I just hate all of it. The worst thing is that this is something that I have to do all the time! Ugh. As much as I hate doing laundry, I am obsessive compulsive about how it is folded, therefore Nate is not allowed to help me. The most important thing is the towels. They must be folded in half, then in half again the long way, then in thirds. End of discussion.
  2. I like to read, but I ALWAYS skip the long drawn out (yawn) descriptions. Who cares what about this person's hair and how it falls past their shoulders in golden tendrils...I just want to know what is happening next. I also pretty much always read the last chapter when I am about 1/4 of the way done with the book then go back and finish the book so that I know how it got to that point. Which leads me to...
  3. I don't like surprises. I do, but if I can find out about them ahead of time I want to. I would open my Christmas presents and rewrap them and put them back under the tree, that sort of thing. Which is why I could NEVER not find out what I was having when I was pregnant. I would not be able to sleep at night!
  4. Speaking of sleeping, I have to play a game of Sudoku every night before I can fall asleep. I love Sudoku!
  5. I love cookbooks. I have so many of them we have a dedicated bookcase in our kitchen, AND I WANT MORE!
  6. I love talk radio. I think I have mentioned this before. I love Dr. Dean Edell, Handel on the Law, Dr. Laura, Glenn Beck, Dennis Miller, I could go on and on. I just love listening to the advice, the political humor, etc., etc., etc.

So there you go, quirky me :). I tag Elisa, Kelly, Mindy, Liz, Melanie, and Amy.

I love reading quirky things about people. Things you are very unlikely to find out if it wasn't for blogs.

I love surprises, except it seems most surprises are bad (hey! your car broke down! Oh, you owe $$$ in back taxes...) I also like talk radio, but I don't like those advice shows AT ALL! I can't handle the know-it-all-ness of the hosts. My mom loves Dr. Laura, too, but she makes my skin crawl. I'm more of an NPR sort. Diane Rehm (sp?) is my favorite. It's been so long since I listened, though. I may have to revisit it all...after the election! I'm not up for it now.

I'll hopefully get my quirky things up tomorrow. There are so many things...how to determine just six? ;o)

P.S. I think we fold our towels identically. I try to let David help on the laundry folding, but I have been known to refold them. I also fold my dishtowels a specific way, as it seems to help them fit better in the drawer.
