Owen & Audrey Update

Audrey is growing so fast! She is already almost 14 months. What happened to my baby? She has really started communicating more and it has been fun to see. Here are the words she can say now:

Mom - variations are MAA-MEE, MAA-MAA, and just plain old MA

Dad - DADADADADADADA

Cracker - GAA-GURR, I discovered this when Audrey saw a cracker on the floor of the car (who knows how long it had been there!) and she wanted it! She started grunting and flapping her arms (a common thing). It goes without saying that she didn't get the cracker :).

Then there is Owen. He comes up with some of the funniest things. Here are just a few of them:
  1. We're in the car on the way home from picking up Wall-E at the RedBox. Owen says, "CALM DOWN, Audrey, you have to wait until we get home!"
  2. He has started adding, "I guess" to the end of his sentences. Yesterday it was, "Hey Mom, I'm poopy, I guess."
  3. There is this toy in the nursery at church that sings a song, "Yummy, yummy, yummy, I've got apples in my tum-my." Owen sings it a lot around the house. Then he came up with his own version, "Yucky, yucky, yucky, I've got poopy in my bum-bum." What is up with boys and their fascination with poop?
  4. Yesterday, Owen told me, "Chill out!"
  5. Whenever he has toast, he likes it cut diagonal so they are shaped like triangles. He asks for "triangle toastes" for breakfast.

It is so much fun to watch them grow and discover the world! Nate and I feel so blessed to be parents of these two precious souls!

I love the stories about your kids. Matt and I laughed so hard at the things Owen said and the story about Audrey and the cracker. They all sound like things are kids do.
