Audrey's Room

Finally! We are done with Audrey's room. On June 30th, we will have been in our house one year and it took us this long to get it painted! When we moved in, it was white with a HIDEOUS wallpaper border. I wish I had taken a picture! We tore it down about a month after we moved in - that was pre-blog days :). Anyway, it had photographs of teddy bears, it was the previous owner's "bear room." When we tore down the wallpaper, there was more hideousness - a stenciled border of peach hearts and green "swags." Needless to say, we had to do something. I wanted to make the room as girly as possible. We chose purple, it is called "Pastel Violet" to be exact. I think it turned out really cute. I need to pick up a few more accessories, but I'm happy with how it turned out.
This is Audrey in her cute crib, she could care less about this whole thing, but she looks cute anyway. This is Audrey's dresser. I plan on doing something else with the top and the wall behind it. A gal at work gave me the pot of fake flowers, they match perfectly!

I had to display Audrey's dollhouse (this was my $10 yard sale find), not that she will be playing with it anytime soon :).
This is her window (obviously). I found this cute garland from a yard sale, there were two of them for 50 cents! I think it turned out cute.

Side note: The crib and dresser that we have was actually given to us when I was pregnant with Owen. A gal at work who was divorced and remarried had an "oops!" pregnancy (her other kids were teenagers) and got all new stuff for her kid. She took care of things so she wouldn't have any more, and I hit the jackpot! She also gave us our infant car seat. She saved us hundreds of dollars!

Isn't it so much fun painting your own walls of your own house? I so don't miss the days of white apartment walls! Congrats!
